Job Overview
Tryon Asset Management Inc. is a growing property management company serving London, St. Thomas, and surrounding areas. We are looking for a motivated, organized, and results-driven Leasing Specialist to join our team.
This is a fast-paced, sales-focused position for someone who sees a list of leads as an chance. The successful candidate will be responsible for marketing available properties, responding to inquiries, conducting showings, following up with prospective tenants, processing applications, and helping qualified applicants move efficiently from their initial inquiry to a signed lease.
We are building a team of individuals who want to grow, succeed, and take ownership of their results. We are looking for someone competitive, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. You should be able to manage your schedule, follow up consistently, and create a positive and professional experience for prospective tenants and property owners.
This position offers a base salary plus commission and performance bonuses, allowing you to increase your earnings based on your leasing results.
Responsibilities
Respond promptly and professionally to prospective tenants by phone, email, text, and online rental platforms
Build rapport with prospective tenants and determine their rental needs, preferred locations, budgets, and move-in dates
Become knowledgeable about the company’s available properties, rental rates, features, utilities, parking, and leasing requirements
Schedule and conduct property showings throughout London, St. Thomas, and surrounding areas
Present properties confidently, highlight their features, answer questions, and encourage qualified prospects to apply
Follow up consistently with leads, showing attendees, applicants, and incomplete applications
Market available properties through online platforms, social media, community groups, and other approved advertising channels
Monitor advertisements and recommend changes to pricing, promotions, photos,
or descriptions based on applicant feedback and market activity
Track inquiries, showings, applications, and leasing results while providing regular updates to the Property Manager
Collect and review rental application documents, including identification, proof of income, employment information, proof of enrolment, and co-signer information
Complete credit, employment, income, and landlord-reference checks in accordance with company procedures
Prepare rental applications, leases, notices, and other leasing documentation accurately
Ensure applications and leasing documents are complete, signed, and properly filed
Coordinate lease approvals, deposits, tenant insurance, utility confirmations, key deposits, and move-in requirements
Maintain accurate records using property management software, spreadsheets, email, and other administrative systems
Protect applicants’ confidential and personal information
Provide professional and respectful service to applicants, tenants, property owners, and team members
Support different property portfolios and assist with related administrative or operational duties as assigned
Follow company policies and all applicable Ontario housing, privacy, accessibility, and human-rights requirements
Qualifications
Previous experience in leasing, property management, real estate, sales, hospitality, or customer service is preferred
A strong sales mindset with the confidence to follow up, overcome objections, and ask prospective tenants to move forward
Self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualified phone, email, and text-message etiquette
Robust attention to detail when reviewing applications and preparing documents
Ability to manage a high volume of inquiries, appointments, showings, and applications
Comfortable learning property management, screening, scheduling, and document-management software
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Knowledge of Ontario’s Residential Tenancies Act, Human Rights Code, privacy requirements, and AODA is a solid asset
Able to adapt to changing priorities and support different properties as operational needs evolve
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including regular evenings and weekends
Qualified appearance and conduct when representing the company
Must have a reliable vehicle and valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence
Must be comfortable travelling between properties in London, St. Thomas, and surrounding areas
