Job Summary
The Team
The Business Office is an established, collaborative team that provides financial, payroll, trust account, records management, staffing, and administrative services that are essential to the operation of the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre. Working alongside institutional management, operational staff, corporate service providers, and the Stores team, employees support the safe, secure, and efficient functioning of the facility.
This role offers the opportunity to gain experience across a variety of business functions in a rotational environment, while contributing to a team culture built on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning. Together, the Business Office and Stores teams play a vital role in delivering the services that keep the centre operating effectively every day.
The Role
As a Finance and Administration Clerk, you will support the financial and administrative services that help keep the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre operating effectively. This diverse role includes finance, payroll, inventory management, inmate trust accounting, and victim notification services.
Your work will have a direct impact on the delivery of correctional services by ensuring accurate financial transactions, payroll support, inventory control, record management, and victim notification processes. Through these responsibilities, you will help support staff, inmates, and victims while maintaining compliance with government policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
Valid BC Driver’s Licence.
Minimum one (1) year (within the last 5 years) of basic finance administration, basic accounting or bookkeeping experience and/or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
Experience handling cash transactions.
Experience with a computer based financial bookkeeping/accounting system.
Experience with MS Office computer applications such as Word and Excel.
Minimum one (1) year (within the last 5 years) general office administration experience.
Typing speed and accuracy of 25 to 30 words per minute(WPM)
Preference may be given to those with:
Two (2) years or more of basic finance administration, basic accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Experience with victim notification and/or inmate administration.
CAS, TLAM, and/or CORNET experience.
Experience with Provincial Government Trust or Revenue Accounting.
Experience working in a Correctional Centre or similar type of environment.
