We are hiring a Sous Chef at our Urban Fare location in Vancouver Area, BC.
Must have open availability and be available to work 40 hours per week
You will be responsible for:
- Leading a team, acting as a coach, mentor, and resource to team members.
- Assisting and providing administrative support for the Head Chef
- Participating and actively leading the production and service for the Restaurant in a set station (prep/production, service case, HMR, Cappuccino Bar).
- Fostering a positive team environment that is focused on Always Customer First service while developing a skilled and motivated culinary team.
- Engaging and retaining team members through training and development, performance management, rewards/recognition and the identification and development of future leaders.
- Assisting the Chef in ordering and effectively controlling all kitchen related costs (food, Labour and packaging).
- Maintaining cleanliness standards throughout Kitchen & Restaurant seating area and lead by example.
- Ensuring that all team members follow standard recipes, focusing on our high standard of taste and presentation.
- Establishing a strong working relationship between the kitchen and service.
- Achieving operational standards (e.g., merchandising, customer service, cleanliness, food safety, receiving, shrink, scheduling, ordering, health and safety).
- Participating and ensuring accurate monthly inventory.
- Following Company and Store policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
You have:
- Food Safe Certification.
- A passion for great food and providing outstanding customer service.
- A strong work ethic and "let's get it done" attitude.
- Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
- Previous leadership experience (considered an asset).

Compensation Details:
$21.00 - $24.00 The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
