Fire Training Technician The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Fire Training Technician. Reporting to the Deputy Chief, Administration & Training, the Fire Training Technician supports the effective operation of the training academy and training division. The Fire Training Technician supports the fire academy accreditation process and requirements, preparation and delivery of training programs, development and maintenance of curriculum, equipment and training facilities, and record keeping.
Applicants must have a diploma in a relevant discipline (such as Emergency Services, Fire Science, Adult Education, Business Administration) from a recognized educational institution supplemented with fire service courses, as well as a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the fire service.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.
The starting salary for this position will be $36.16 per hour (Training Technician 1st 6 months – 2026 rate), with future increments and other advantages to be in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
