$25 - $33.50 per hour, based on experience and licensure
Schedule:
4-day work week with rotating weekends. 12-hour and 8-hour shifts available

This role is ideal for an experienced RVT with strong anesthesia, surgical, dentistry, diagnostic, and patient-care skills who wants to be an integral part of a supportive and highly skilled veterinary team.

What You’ll Do
Prepare surgical suites, equipment, instruments, medications, and patients prior to procedures
Prepare patients for surgery,
including catheter placement, IV fluid setup, clipping, aseptic preparation, and positioning
Calculate and prepare anesthetic and surgical medications under veterinary direction
Induce and maintain anesthesia under the direction of the attending veterinarian
Continuously monitor anesthetized patients, including ECG, SpO2, ETCO2, blood pressure, temperature, respiratory rate, and other appropriate parameters
Recognize changes in anesthetic depth or patient status and promptly communicate concerns to the veterinarian
Maintain complete and accurate anesthesia and surgical records
Provide perioperative nursing care and closely monitor patients throughout recovery
Ensure recovering patients remain warm, comfortable, clean, dry, and appropriately monitored
Maintain and troubleshoot anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment, oxygen supplies, and surgical equipment
Clean, sterilize, package, and maintain surgical instruments according to established protocols
Maintain surgical inventory and ensure supplies are stocked and ready for procedures
Assist with surgical patient discharge and provide post-operative instructions as directed by the veterinarian
Participate in post-operative patient follow-up as needed
Perform RVT and technical appointments within clinic protocols and applicable regulations
Complete patient assessments, rechecks, blood draws, bandage changes, suture or staple removals, nail trims, ear cleanings, and other technician-level services
Assist with radiology and diagnostic procedures while following appropriate safety protocols
Assist with dental procedures and perform dental cleanings as directed
Support the reception team when needed based on hospital workflow
What You’ll Bring
Current Registered Veterinary Technician certification in Ontario
Hands-on experience working as a Veterinary Technician
Strong knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures
Confidence with anesthesia and surgical patient monitoring
Experience with dentistry and laboratory diagnostics
Strong patient‑assessment and technical nursing skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Strong attention to detail and sound clinical judgment
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced veterinary environment
