Job Description

- Our client is seeking a strategic, results-driven Vendor Manager IV / Strategic Sourcing skilled to support technology-category sourcing engagements in Toronto.
- The role will act as the project lead for multiple sourcing engagements, partnering with Lines of Business, senior executives, technology and business stakeholders, suppliers, legal/contract teams, Risk, Cybersecurity, Compliance, Oversight, procurement, and vendor-management functions to determine the appropriate sourcing path, evaluate suppliers, negotiate commercial and contract terms, complete assessments and approvals, and drive engagements through final execution.
- Categories may include infrastructure, engineering, network services, private and public cloud, data centers, employee enablement tools, and storage.
- This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative, highly regulated environment with exposure to complex technology procurement, market intelligence, supplier risk, governance, and emerging AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities
Strategic sourcing and commercial execution

- Develop sourcing pipelines and category strategies in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
- Lead requirements gathering, RFx activity, supplier evaluation, and supplier selection.
- Lead supplier negotiations and deal structuring involving SOWs, POCs, MSAs, NDAs, commercial terms, pricing, and total cost of ownership.
- Support onboarding, renewals, order forms, SOWs, contracting readiness, and deal execution.




- Deliver timely sourcing services and resolve contracting or procurement issues within required cycle times.

Risk, governance, and stakeholder leadership

- Coordinate with vendor management on supplier risk, approvals, governance, and transition to post-signature oversight.
- Ensure sourcing activity follows enterprise frameworks, financial controls, segregation-of-duties requirements, and approval standards.
- Identify, mitigate, report, and escalate non-standard or high-risk matters.
- Present research and recommendations to management and influence stakeholders toward sound procurement decisions.
- Prioritize multiple initiatives while maintaining SLA turnaround time and quality of work.

Required Skillsets

- Strong strategic sourcing / procurement experience with end-to-end engagement ownership; eight or more years is preferred, but exceptional soft skills and independent delivery may compensate for fewer years.
- Direct ownership of complex supplier and contract negotiations.
- Strong understanding of MSA, SOW, NDA, POC, commercial terms, pricing, and deal structure.
- Technology procurement lifecycle experience.
- Supplier-risk, governance, approval, and compliance awareness.
- Experience in a highly regulated environment.




- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Stakeholder management and influencing capability.
- Self-direction, resourcefulness, detail orientation, and prioritization.
- Ability to work the stated Toronto hybrid schedule and commit to the assignment.

Preferred Skillsets

- Supply chain certification.
- Banking, financial-services, or healthcare experience.
- Ariba or Coupa experience.
- Technology sourcing across cloud, infrastructure, network, data centers, engineering, enablement tools, or storage.
- Experience evaluating AI-enabled tools and related commercial, risk, and scalability considerations.

Note:

- Experience: Strategic sourcing / procurement experience with end-to-end ownership; 8+ years preferred but flexible for exceptional soft skills and independent delivery
- Education: Post-secondary education is an asset
- Certifications: Supply chain certifications are an asset
