CORE Geomatics seeks a Fisheries & Aquatics Specialist to enhance their Environmental Division. This hybrid position encompasses extensive fieldwork and team leadership in Alberta.
As a Fisheries & Aquatics Specialist, your role is crucial for project completion involving oil & gas and renewable energy sectors. We seek candidates with comprehensive knowledge in aquatic assessments, species identification, and construction monitoring. The role requires a commitment to safety, along with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues while performing in challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform environmental data collection and construction monitoring
• Lead junior staff in field data collection and safety




• Oversee fish salvage and habitat assessments
• Collaborate on multi-disciplinary project teams
• Complete required administrative tasks and reporting
Requirements:
• 5-9 years of experience in environmental consulting
• Degree in biological sciences or related fields
• Professional Biologist designation or ability to achieve
• Relevant certifications (Electrofishing, Crew Lead)
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
