Brief Description
An excellent prospect for a growing Project Coordinator to join an established full service mechanical contractor and work with some of Vancouver most skilled PM’s and Foreman.
About our client
My client is an established but boutique company, that offer full mechanical services for their clients. They mainly operate within commercial and institutional buildings, however, do sometimes get involved in some residential work.
You will join the team of experts in the office and have a real opportunity to learn from the best. They have a collaborative approach to their projects that a lot of the big companies don’t, meaning you will work through challenges of these large scale projects as a unit and you will always feel supported as you succeed and grow as a team.
Please see below for an insight on the day-to-day duties of the role:
- Assist the Project Manager with the coordination and delivery of mechanical construction projects from start to finish
- Maintain project schedules, documentation, drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout records
- Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to ensure projects remain on track
- Support procurement activities, including purchase orders, material coordination, and delivery tracking
- Assist with project cost tracking,
progress billing, invoices, and change orders
- Attend project meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on outstanding action items
- Coordinate RFIs, shop drawings, technical submittals, deficiencies, and other project deliverables
- Support the Project Manager and site team in resolving project and mechanical installation issues
- Track project progress, identify potential delays or cost impacts, and escalate issues to the Project Manager
- Assist with commissioning, project turnover, and closeout while ensuring company, safety, and applicable code requirements are met
Requirements
- Looking for someone with 1-3 years of experience working for a full service mechanical contractor
- Willing to be mentored and coached
- Must have estimating experience and be open to estimating
- Must have worked on projects in North America
- Preference for new build ICI projects
- Have an in-depth technical understanding of mechanical systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship building skills
- Proficient with computer systems and programmes
Compensation
- Salary range $70,000 - $80,000
