Title: Warehouse Material Handler
Reports to: Trucking Manager
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $25 per hour

Urban Impact is hiring an entry level Warehouse Material Handler to join our Trucking team. The successful candidate will be trained on the job, This job is an excellent entry level job into a growing organization.

The tasks consist of:
Carrying out physical tasks of setting up a bins and containers;
General clean up and garbage removal of warehouse and yard and street
Offloading third party deliveries
Keeping the yard free of garbage
Prepping equipment for next day delivery
Cleaning/power washing totes to be presentable for next use
Assisting in loading/unloading CubeVans for the day’s delivery
Assisting drivers in the morning with equipment requests
Organizing equipment storage areas.
Notify Operations of equipment and material shortages
Assists in restocking received orders
Washing and sanitizing compactors as needed after they get dumped
Assembling and disassembling totes, scavenging parts and repair totes.
General Building Handyman Maintenance
Occasional parts running or shuttling drivers between locations
Tasks as assigned by Manager/Supervisor
Requirements:
Ability to stand, lift, push and exert some effort (up to 50 pounds)
Physically Fit
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction
Clean Drivers Abstract
Proficient in using hand tools - manual and power
Very familiar with pressure washers
Able to work independently while consistently updating different departments
Knows how to keep a clean workspace
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Looking for 1 year work experience in similar Warehouse or construction environment
Prioritise safety in the workplace;
Strong team player and willingness to help
Ability to communicate effectively with others
Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet deadlines
Be a respectful member of the team
Take pride in the quality of their work
Be flexible and adapt quickly to change
Enjoy physically demanding tasks
Enjoy working outside in all types of Metro Vancouver weather
Forklift licence and experience considered an asset
3 or 5 ton truck driving experience considered an asset
Urban Impact's Current West Plant is close to the Sapperton Skytrain station.
