Our firm has an opening for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal, Family Law . The ideal candidate embraces technology and is open to utilization of artificial intelligence where deemed appropriate. If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a very busy and interesting family law practice focused on both litigation as well as alternative dispute resolutions (ADR) where you work alongside a group of dynamic and friendly people, then we look forward to hearing from you. The candidate will have the option to work from one of our offices in either West Kelowna, Penticton or Kelowna but willing to travel between offices periodically when required.





The newest member of our team will have:

Completed a Certificate or Diploma in legal administration or a Paralegal Program, or bring an equivalent level of experience

Ideally a minimum of 4+ years experience as a Paralegal in Family Law, but all applications will be considered

Excellent organizational/follow-up skills; attention to detail, proofreading, and accuracy

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team workplace

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion

Communicate professionally and demonstrate a high level of client focus

Leadership training or aspirations would be an asset

Highlights of the role include:

Open new files, complete conflict checks, prepare physical files if needed

Preparation of court documents and drafting correspondence

Scheduling appointments, examinations for discovery, trials, etc.

Preparation of statements of accounts, sending out correspondence

Monthly billing and accounting tasks, such as cheque requests

Purging and closing files

General legal assistant and paralegal duties as assigned

Vacation/Sick coverage for the team as needed
