About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Civil Site Engineer to lead critical site operations for major infrastructure projects in East London . This role is central to ensuring that all civil engineering works are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, including planning, coordination, and problem-solving to overcome construction challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, and a proven ability to manage site teams and subcontractors effectively within the demanding construction environment of the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and manage all on-site civil engineering activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Implement and enforce rigorous health and safety protocols on the construction site.
- Monitor project progress, quality control, and ensure work is executed according to design drawings and technical requirements.
- Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, direct labor, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow.




- Resolve on-site technical issues and propose practical solutions to keep the project on schedule.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports, material usage, and quality checks.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of proven experience as a Site Engineer, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant civil engineering technologies .
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with infrastructure projects in East London or the surrounding regions is highly desirable.
