Your skills and experience can shape the future of education and make a real impact in our community.Key Responsibilities:Prepare supplies and create samples and specimens for laboratory sessionsSet up and take down of medical laboratory equipmentMaintain accurate records of all maintenance and service callsMaintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment/instrumentation to manufacturers’ standards in compliance with program specificationsProvide operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance support to the programsPerform quality control proceduresEnsure work area is in a safe and clean conditionAssist in the ordering of supplies and expendable items, and maintain related inventory recordsLiaise with team members and members of other work unitsSkills & Abilities:Strong oral and written communicationStrong interpersonal skillsStrong time management and organizational skillsA solid working knowledge of a clinical laboratory setting, safety standards, and equipment operations and maintenance in the medical laboratory fieldAbility to work independently and as part of a teamUse of Microsoft suite programsAbility to lift 20 - 30 lbs unassistedAbility to stand and walk for 7.25 hoursAbility to physically perform standard medical laboratory workAbility to work flexible hours and assignmentsQualifications:A minimum of a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized post-secondary instituteA minimum 2-5 years of related experience is preferredMust be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA)Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).Classification - Educational Laboratory Technologist IIIThis position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.RemunerationRefer to salary range noted on this posting, plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation pay.
