The proposed role supports prototyping, system integration, testing, and refinement of both product design and manufacturing processes.Luau Data Corp produces Eyes On Site™, a system of cameras and sensors for remote site monitoring. Eyes On Site™ devices are solar powered and communicate wirelessly using BLE and cell modems.ResponsibilitiesAssemble circuit boards using a soldering ironCreate and modify plastic parts using 3D printing and CNCAssemble plastic cases using solvents and fastenersCreate sub-assemblies including conformal coating and hot glueLoad and configure firmware on micro-controllersPerform module tests on integrated electronics, firmware and mechanical componentsComplete final assembly and testing using a web interface, mobile app and test instrumentsFollow detailed written documentation for all proceduresSuggest improvements for the products and procedures, and document theseKeep records of all assembly and test activitiesTrack inventories of parts, supplies, assemblies and productsProducts produced by this position will be used for research and development, field testing, marketing, customer demonstration, and customer deliveries.RequirementsMust be eligible for theIRAP Youth Employment ProgramAge: Must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the internship.Education: Must be a post-secondary graduate (degree, diploma, or certificate from a university, college, CEGEP, or post-secondary technology institute).Status:
