Position will remain open until filled.The OpportunityWorking under the direction of the Manager of Youth Programs, the Program Coordinator II is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and delivery of DIVERSEcity’s Schools Out Summer Camps, which serve children ages 6–12 in Delta, BC. The program prioritizes registrations for Indigenous and newcomer children, followed by other high‑risk, non‑Indigenous and newcomer children within the school district, and children who face barriers to accessing summer camps. Designed to be accessible and intercultural, the camp integrates cross‑cultural awareness, environmental responsibility, and personal health and wellbeing through a full‑family approach.This position blends program management, operational oversight, communications and administrative support. The Program Coordinator II will work closely with Activity Workers and oversee their activities across camp sites to ensure that daily programming is engaging, developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive. Responsibilities include facilitating hands‑on activities, organising field trips and special events, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and safety protocols, and building strong relationships with families, schools and community partners.Key Areas of ResponsibilityDevelop and implement comprehensive activities that align with the following 5 core outcome domains: Social‑Emotional Development, Connectedness, Interests and Competencies, Health and Well‑Being,
Service to Community.Coordinate and oversee day‑to‑day camp operations across multiple sites, training, scheduling and supervising Activity Workers and volunteers.Plan field trips for both sites.Support staff with coaching, guidance and ongoing performance feedback.Coordinate activities with Activity Workers to ensure alignment with program themes.Ensure the safety and well‑being of all participants by implementing safety protocols and risk‑management strategies, maintaining a healthy, inclusive, and child‑centered setting.Monitor and evaluate program success; maintain accuratestatistics and data.Prepare reports for funders and internal stakeholders.Provide administrative support, including program expense tracking and reconciliation, documentation, communications and logistics.Respond to challenging behaviours and crisis situations using trauma‑informed practices.Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and caregivers, school personnel, local service providers and community partners.Represent the organization at external meetings and events as required.Attend staff meetings, planning/review sessions and special events.Adhere to organisational and departmental policies and procedures.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager, Senior Manager and/or Director.QualificationsPost‑secondary education in a relevant field such as Child and Youth Worker, Social Work, Recreation, Education or related discipline.Minimum of one year related experience with youth, community development or outreach,
or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Emergency First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.Excellent written and spoken English.Fluency in an additional language is considered an asset.Knowledge of sports etiquette, sportsmanship and rules of commonly played games and activities.Strong organisational and time‑management skills.Experience facilitating group sessions and youth‑led activities.Demonstrated knowledge of community resources and the ability to network and build partnerships.High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows and internet‑based tools.Effective documentation, record‑keeping and reporting skills.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work both independently and collaboratively.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and resolve conflicts constructively.Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5) to travel between sites as required.A criminal record check is a requirement of employment.We currently have staff on the recall list.
