Temporary Regulatory Financial Analyst

A sixteen-month vacancy exists in the Regulatory department at our Country Squire location for the position of Temporary Regulatory Financial Analyst.
This position reports to the Supervisor of Regulatory Affairs. The Regulatory Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for the monthly settlement process with the IESO, recording and reporting of variance accounting, the preparation of supporting documentation for regulatory filings and rate submissions to the Ontario Energy Board and other agencies, follow regulatory proceedings and advice on implications to the Corporation, provide assistance with financial regulatory and cost analysis as well as budgeting and annual and cost of service rate cases.
Skills/Abilities
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Work independently and as an analytical thinker with the ability to conduct research, data analysis, and solve complex problems
Robust organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
Knowledge/Education
Post secondary degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent
Enrolment in the CPA PEP required, completion of CFE preferred
Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques is required
Experience
3 to 5 years progressive experience in a regulatory or finance role
Experience with financial modeling will be considered an asset
Experience with Enterprise Resource Systems (JD Edwards and Hubble preferred)
Major (Primary) Responsibilities
Prepare monthly regulatory journal entries
Perform account reconciliations on regulatory accounts
Maintain records to satisfy annual OEB reporting requirements
Maintain and compile information for regulatory rate filings
Prepare and file monthly RPP and other IESO filings
Prepare monthly power bill accrual
Prepare and file Stats Can reports
Maintain positive working relationships with all internal departments, management staff and employees as well as with external customers, contractors, municipal agencies and governmental bodies
Salary Range: $77,640 - $97,050 annually
