Description The Information Technologies is currently seeking a Full-time Limited Term Specialist, Identity and Access Management for approximately 21 months. Information Technologies (IT) provides computing, network, and media services in support of learning, teaching, research, and administration at the University of Calgary. Critical to the technology strategy is an understanding that technology has a dual responsibility within the academy; meeting the expectationthat technology is available, reliable, and ubiquitous and that technology must enable an environment of learning and discovery by supporting the teaching and research communities. Identity and Messaging, this position provides a technical role in leading the planning, design, deployment and maintenance of on-premises and cloud-based services that spans across Identity and Access Management (IAM). These technologies and services are critical to the ongoing operation of the University IT infrastructure and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The nature of the job requires the incumbent to work quickly and efficiently in high stress situations where errors can result in a high community impact. The job also requires some work to be performed outside normal business hours. The position works 35 hours per week. The position requires working closely with IT staff as well as other University stakeholders. The position is required to represent and advocate on behalf of stakeholders in Research, Teaching and Learning, and Administration when dealing with outside vendors and suppliers. The position is expected to run and manage technical projects. The position is subject to high stress as it requires balancing multiple priorities, and the impact of error can be campus-wide. Operational support Provide support to federated identity systems that include Entra ID, Shibboleth IdP and Central Authentication Service.
