In accordance with Article 12 of the Agreement between the Board of Trustees and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 829, the following information is posted.

Vincent Massey Elementary School will have a student population of approximately 250 students in Kindergarten to Grade 6. We also offer an Early Learning (ELP) program. Vincent Massey is located in the Northwest area of the city. The designated attendance areas served at Vincent Massey are Riverside, NW Crescent Heights, and the NE Crescent Heights area south of 20th Street NE. Our learning community motto is “Learn to Care, Care to Learn”. We are dedicated to preparing students for happy and successful lives as ethical citizens and engaged thinkers.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Experience working with students with diverse needs would be an asset
Preference will be given to applicants with an understanding of childhood development
Building solid relationships with students, helping students learn, and seeing the best in every student in an inclusive school setting




Assisting and supporting students through individual support plans and/or behaviour support plans
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students and adults
Work as part of a team, take direction and follow student and classroom programs.
Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
Ability to work in a versatile learning setting and make adjustments for classroom or individual child needs
Supervision duties (recess, classroom, lunch, etc.)
We will require all successful applicants to provide a police record check with vulnerable sector check, an intervention record check and also complete a physical demands assessment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience and/or training working with students in school setting preferred.
Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities specifically early learning to grade 6.
First aid would be an asset
