Home Support Worker
Roles and Responsibilities
Offer support and companionship to client and family when they are going through times of illness, recovery, or family challenges.
Provide bedside and personal assistance to client, including helping with walking, bathing, personal grooming, and getting dressed.
Handle basic healthcare tasks such as non-sterile dressings and aiding with medication administration under the overall guidance of the employer.
Prepare and cook meals, including special dietary options, and feed or support client during meals.
Assist with regular household chores such as doing laundry, washing dishes, and making beds.
Requirements
1~7 months’ experience
Completion of secondary school
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must be punctual and reliable and able to care for elderly with kindness and patience
Demonstrate valuable judgement and organizational skills
Completion of training course in elderly care is an asset
First aid certification is an asset
