The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is seeking an Assistant Teacher for a part-time role across multiple locations. This position focuses on personal child care, implementing the YMCA Curriculum, and fostering communication with families and staff. Your ability to create an inclusive and nurturing setting will be critical in supporting children’s wide-ranging needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personal care and first aid to children
• Supervise and engage with up to 15 children
• Plan and implement play-based learning
• Communicate positively with families and staff
• Support children with exceptional needs and behaviors
Requirements:
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
• Ability to lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs.)
