The Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary rehabilitation center with an international reputation for excellence in complex rehabilitation and specialized geriatrics. We participate in academic training programs for physicians and allied health professionals and offer an extensive array of continuing education courses. The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit 4B is a 21-bed unit. The nurses integrate knowledge, skills, and ability to ensure ongoing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care is essential in ensuring optimal care that is provided for our patients. Working in a team-oriented care model, the nurse is a member of the interprofessional care team who facilitates the patient's rehabilitation care plan with the patient and family central to the decision-making process.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice,



policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing secure, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Must be able to frequently transfer, push, pull, reposition and assist patients using ergonomic principles of It's Your Move. Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time. Must be able to work with and manage patients with unpredictable behaviours, impulsivity and cognitive impairments. Recent experience working in Brain Injury, Stroke, Neurology, Rehabilitation is preferred.
