Join Stantec as a Senior Substation Electrical Designer and lead projects that modernize communities through effective electrical design in Edmonton, Alberta.

As part of the Western Canada Power Delivery group, this role offers you the prospect to focus on electrical design for substations from 5 kV to 500 kV. You will support critical engineering workflows, work closely with cross-functional teams, and influence project outcomes through expert design input.

This is a chance to apply your knowledge of high voltage electrical systems while mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop comprehensive substation designs and electrical drawings
Prepare essential electrical design deliverables and documentation
Evaluate and integrate vendor specifications into designs




Participate in site visits for data collection and validation
Oversee QA/QC of design packages for quality assurance

Requirements:
8+ years in high voltage substation design
Solid grasp of electrical code rules and standards
Experience with AutoCAD/Micro Station design tools
Proven ability in field data collection practices
Educational background in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
