About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a growing logistics and transportation organization who is seeking a Controller to step in immediately and provide leadership across day-to-day accounting operations. This role is critical in ensuring continuity and accuracy during a transition period, working closely with an outgoing contract Controller for knowledge transfer.

This is an excellent prospect for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment, enjoys improving processes, and can confidently oversee a small team while remaining actively involved in the details.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements
- Maintain bank and credit card reconciliations and fixed asset records
- Prepare and file sales tax returns and ensure adherence to accounting policies
- Oversee weekly billings and payments
- Lead and support a small A/P and A/R team




- Provide back‑up support across A/P, A/R, and Financial Analyst functions as needed
- Prepare for and liaise with external auditors
- Finalize work instructions and drive process improvements
- Participate in ERP improvements and ensure effective internal controls
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required

What We’re Looking For

- Previous hands‑on Controller or senior accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with multi‑segment account structures
- Experience preparing for and working with Big Four audits
- Strong financial reporting and full‑cycle accounting knowledge
- Experience leading a small accounting team
- Hands‑on, detail‑oriented approach with a strong process improvement mindset
