By embracing our differences, we create products that benefit our patients, clients, and human health overall.Purpose of the jobThe maintenance planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimizing preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with pharmaceutical manufacturing standards. This role is essential in supporting good manufacturing practices (GMP) and minimizing production downtime. The maintenance planner oversees all preventive and corrective maintenance across production, packaging, and facility departments, ensuring timely execution while maintaining safety, GMP compliance,



and validation requirements. This includes monitoring calibration and preventive maintenance tasks to align with established schedules. Additionally, the maintenance planner organizes and manages semi-annual and annual planned shutdowns, ensuring all maintenance activities are efficiently executed within required timelines.ResponsibilitiesGeneralDevelop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all critical equipment and utilities.Optimize equipment and utilities maintenance plans.Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to plan maintenance activities with minimal disruption.Utilize CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to track work orders, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.Close work orders after review by supervisors (corrective, preventive and calibration) in the CMMS.Coordinate the purchase of spare parts inventoried with the buyer.Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks and procurement of parts.Support audits and inspections by providing documentation and maintenance records.Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory standards including GMP, Health Canada, and FDA guidelines.Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and recommend improvements.Prepare maintenance reports and metrics for management review (KPIs).Perform other duties as assigned by management.PlanningFollow up on preventive maintenance activities with the production planner and other key stakeholders (engineering, production, packaging, etc.).Ensure the availability of human resources, equipment, materials, special tools, procedures and instructions as required.Support the maintenance supervisors in the estimation of material, labor,



contractor and equipment rental costs for specific jobs.Lead the preparation of the semi-annual & annual shutdowns with the maintenance and engineering teams.Plan the required external resources (consultants and contractors) for targeted maintenance work, in support of the supervisors.AdministrationLead the development of service agreements for maintenance contracts.Participate in the development of the maintenance budget.Collaborate with the supervisors to facilitate the execution of work orders.Responsible for the inventory list of all plant equipment.Participate in weekly coordination meetings with supply chain, production, quality and validation.Health – Safety – EnvironmentMaintain the maintenance program to meet HSE requirements.Identify/report HSE hazards or suspected hazards during maintenance activities and suggest improvements.Education & ExperienceCollege diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent experience: mechanical engineering, building mechanics, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, etc.Experience Required5 to 10 years of experience as a maintenance planner.Pharmaceutical or food manufacturing experience a plus.Skills RequiredFunctional with the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS project...)Good technical writing skills: synthesis, report, etc...Knowledge of a computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) SAP, an assetKnowledge in the management of a factory spare parts store is an asset.Knowledge in continuous improvement an asset.Bilingualism (French/English) oral and writtenStrong team player with direct and functional reporting relationships and demonstrated leadership abilities.Ability to represent the company's interests in discussions with external firmsSalary ranges from $59,031 to $98,384 depending on education level and years of experience.If qualified individuals with a disability need assistance in applying for this position, contact human resources at [email protected] informing us regarding the nature of your request and providing your contact information.Join us, and be a part of our global success story#J-18808-Ljbffr
