Employment Chance: Employment and Housing Manager (Edmonton)

The Council for Canada’s Scaled Settlement Initiative (SSI) is seeking an Employment and Housing Manager (EHM), based in Edmonton . This managerial position will provide leadership, coordination and oversight of regional sourcing, matching and placement of newly arrived Jamat for employmentand housing.

The role will strengthen regional capacity to connect newly arrived Jamat with suitable employment and housing opportunities through effective coordination and resource utilization. The successful candidate will be responsible for critical aspects such as project management, cultivating stakeholder relations, employment partnerships and sourcing, housing coordination as well as management of contractual agreements.

Thecandidate will work closely with regional leadership and settlement teams to manage all aspects of successful job and housing placement. They will be responsible for critical functions related to employment and housing,



including managing and coordinating intakes, matching and placement, cultivating key stakeholder relationships, sourcing employers and landlords, supporting tenancy success, as well as managing related processes and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will bring direct experience working with newcomers to Canada in the employment and/or housing sectors. This individual will be strategic and detailed-oriented, excel in collaborating with and coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and have creative problem-solving skills. Essential for success, is the candidate’s ability to demonstrate strong commitment to empowering individuals and communities to succeed and drive program objectives forward with professionalism and purpose.
