The Simcoe County District School Board seeks a Temporary ASL-English Interpreter. This role requires fluency in ASL and English to facilitate effective communication within educational settings.

The successful candidate will work closely with students and staff, providing interpreting and translating services at Bayview Public School in Midland. A minimum of 35 hours per week is expected from full-time interpreters, while part-time options may also be available. A relevant degree or diploma is essential to qualify.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret classroom lectures and social events in ASL
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
• Ensure educational materials are accessible to students




• Attend school meetings and provide required reporting
• Support students during field trips and extracurricular activities

Requirements:
• Honours degree or diploma in ASL/English Interpretation
• At least six months of relevant experience
• ASL skill documentation required
• Solid organizational and communication abilities
• Understanding of Deaf culture and cross-cultural issues
