GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Provincial or Site Leader of Supportive Care the Clinical Oncology Social Worker is responsible for providing psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment, clinical intervention and counseling services to patients and families.



This position actively participates in department education programs and is expected to adopt the interdisciplinary model, which defines the department and participates in a manner that embraces this model.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Grade 12.

Bachelor degree in Social Work or Indigenous Social Work.

Valid drivers license.

Experience:

Three (3) years supervised counseling experience in the field of Psychosocial Oncology or related experience

Candidates with two (2) years experience and a Masters Degree in Social Work or Indigenous Social Work may be considered.

Membership:

Membership with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.

Skills:

Demonstrated experience and expertise in the recognized social work methodologies of counseling, group work, and community development.

Knowledge of community, social and health care programs within the province.

Communication skills required to develop and present complex information including written documentation and verbal presentations.
