About the Role Our client, a key contributor to the telecoms infrastructure in the region, is seeking a skilled Telecoms Fiber Optic Specialist to join their technical team in Kimberley . This role focuses on the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks, which are essential for delivering high-speed broadband and communication services. You will work closely with installation crews and network engineers to ensure the integrity and optimal performance of our fiber optic assets. This is an ideal position for a hands-on specialist with a passion for cutting-edge fiber technology.
Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables according to industry standards and company procedures.
Perform testing and analysis of fiber optic networks using equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and light sources.
Diagnose and resolve faults within the fiber optic infrastructure, minimizing service disruption.
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on fiber optic networks.
Maintain accurate records of all fiber optic installations, testing results,



and repairs.
Assist in the planning and design of current fiber optic network deployments.
Requirements Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or Specialist in the telecoms industry .
Proficiency in fiber optic splicing techniques (fusion and mechanical) and termination methods.
Experience with fiber optic testing equipment and interpretation of test results.
Understanding of fiber optic network design principles and standards.
Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
