Join a collaborative team dedicated to strengthening primary care and public health across Alberta. As a Health Promotion Facilitator II with the Communications & Engagement team, you will work with partners across Alberta's health system to support initiatives that promote health, prevent disease and injury and improve health outcomes for Albertans.Reporting to the Team Lead, you will provide consultation, project leadership and communication expertise to public health programs and services within Primary Care Alberta. Working in a dynamic environment, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance provincial public health priorities through planning, engagement, knowledge translation and operational support.You will independently lead complex projects and contribute to provincial initiatives through planning, implementation and evaluation, bringing together partners and subject matter experts to ensure initiatives are effectively delivered. You will contribute to communication and engagement strategies and provide recommendations to inform public health priorities, program planning and service improvement.You will lead or support the development, review and maintenance of communication products, including reports, presentations, resources, newsletters, website content and campaigns. The role includes project management, content development, editorial review, quality assurance, stakeholder engagement and public health marketing and communication support.The successful candidate is a strong relationship builder and facilitator with excellent project management and communication skills who thrives in a complex environment requiring adaptability, sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Description:
As a Health Promotion Facilitator II, you will lead and coordinate health promotion, disease and injury prevention initiatives and programs using a population health promotion approach. You will identify behavioural, social, political, economic, environmental and organizational factors that promote or compromise health and recommend evidence-informed strategies to address identified priorities. You will conduct situational analyses, literature reviews,



environmental scans and focus groups to make recommendations as part of an integrated program planning and evaluation process. You will manage projects using standardized tools and techniques that are conducive or aligned with health promotion, disease and injury prevention practices.You will collaborate with key internal and external key stakeholders in project or program planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement. You will facilitate community and staff engagement and build community and staff capacity around population health promotion priorities. You will evaluate the effectiveness of existing health promotion and disease prevention strategies and make recommendations.

Required Qualifications:




Master's degree in Health Promotion, Public or Population Health, Health Education or a related field.

Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in health marketing, communication, engagement, health promotion, knowledge translation.Experience applying the population health promotion model, health promotion strategies, determinants of health, health equity and healthy public policy.Experience developing, implementing and evaluating communication, engagement or health promotion initiatives and projects.Demonstrated experience providing consultation and recommendations to leaders, project teams and stakeholders.Demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and tight timelines.Demonstrated ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement, build consensus and work collaboratively with diverse partners.Demonstrated advanced skills in writing, editing, plain language communication and knowledge translation for a variety of audiences.Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into high quality reports, presentations, communication products and decision support materials.Demonstrated organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex setting.Experience in strategic planning, program planning, implementation and evaluation.Ability to be resourceful, creative, adaptive and flexible while managing change and developing innovative solutions to complex issues.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting provincial public and population health programs and campaigns.Experience working independently in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 applications.Experience supporting written, website and digital communications, newsletters or stakeholder engagement initiatives.Experience providing consultation, facilitation or capacity-building support to interdisciplinary teams.
