Become a key player in geriatric physiotherapy with Nova Scotia Health, working in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital emergency department. This role focuses on enhancing seniors' functional capacity and well-being through expert physiotherapy services.
In this full-time temporary position, the Physiotherapist collaborates with the Seniors Care Team to provide exceptional care for seniors, allowing for enhanced independence. This role demands strong communication and counseling skills coupled with the ability to work autonomously. Candidates are expected to contribute to the education of physiotherapy students while adhering to skilled standards and health policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored physiotherapy services to seniors
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Create and implement effective treatment strategies
• Educate and supervise physiotherapy students
• Follow Nova Scotia Health’s clinical policies and guidelines
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or entry-level master’s degree in Physiotherapy
• Membership in the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator
• Experience in geriatric care is advantageous
• Strong communication and counseling proficiency
• Ability to function independently within a team
