GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Under the supervision and direction of the Site Manager, Outpatient Services the Pain and Symptom Management & Palliative Care Coordinator is responsible for providing clinical leadership,
support and coordination of care to oncology patients and their families, specifically concerning pain and symptom and palliative care issues. The Coordinator is responsible for providing consultation and education so that quality pain and symptom management and palliative care services based on best practice and current research is provided to oncology patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
Oncology Nursing Certification is an asset
Experience: Five (5) years of nursing experience
Memberships: Licensed with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
Membership with Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) is an asset.
Membership with Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) is an asset.
Skills: Communication skills are required to develop and present complex information including written documentation and verbal presentations.
Ability to teach and present information to persons over whom the incumbent may have no direct authority.
Human relations skills are required to develop formal relationships of a therapeutic n
