Become part of New Westminster’s Public Works team as a Municipal Waterworks Maintenance Worker. This full-time role specializes in repairs, maintenance, and installations essential for community water services.

In this position, you will handle critical tasks such as identifying water service leaks, installing recent mains, and maintaining various water system components. Your role will not only ensure the effective delivery of municipal services but also include supervisory responsibilities over labourers. Emergency response duties will be required for after-hours situations. Opportunities for training in the wastewater utility are also available.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform manual repairs on the City’s water system
• Install valves, hydrants, and related infrastructure




• Conduct emergency responses and service advisories
• Supervise and direct labourers on maintenance tasks
• Update records and prepare reports as needed

Requirements:
• Completed Grade 12 supplemented by extensive maintenance experience
• Strong understanding of waterworks tools and materials
• Leadership skills for managing working teams
• Must possess a valid BC Driver’s License
• Pass a clear Police Information Check
