Join Nipissing University as the Biidaaban Community Service-Learning Officer and lead impactful Indigenous student initiatives. This full-time role emphasizes developing partnerships to enhance experiential learning opportunities.
As part of the Office of Indigenous Initiatives, you will guide the planning and evaluation of the Biidaaban Community Service-Learning (BCSL) program. Your responsibilities encompass nurturing respectful relationships with Indigenous communities and fostering student engagement in culturally significant learning experiences. The role also includes managing budgetary aspects and supervising student coordination efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and evaluate the BCSL experiential learning program
• Build and maintain relationships with local Indigenous communities
• Recruit students and support their educational outcomes
• Oversee finances and resource allocation for BCSL
• Supervise Indigenous Student Engagement and Placement Coordinator
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• At least 3 years of community engagement experience
• Knowledge of Indigenous perspectives and contemporary realities
• Proven skills in program administration and evaluation
• Robust leadership and communication capabilities
