Job Description: As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling,



goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience 1 year experience in a mental health setting.
Three (3) years nursing experience
Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Nursing diploma is acceptable
Competencies Advanced - Demonstrates word processing skills using Microsoft Office programs
Critical thinking skills
Decision making skills
Knowledge and Abilities Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy
