Requirements
PhD degree in English, Media Studies, Comparative Literature, Cinema Studies, or a related area by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter
Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching in Game Studies
Humanities-based research and teaching focused on storytelling and world-making in digital and analog games and virtual environments
Work connecting critical analysis of games with game design theory and practice
Evidence of research excellence through publications, forthcoming publications, research statement,
significant conference presentations, awards, accolades, and strong referee endorsements
Evidence of teaching excellence through teaching accomplishments, teaching dossier, and strong reference letters
Ability to foster diversity and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and a respectful and collegial environment
Three references with recent letters submitted by the closing date
Canadians and permanent residents given priority
