STRABAG is hiring a General Accountant in Mississauga to enhance our financial operations. This full time position focuses on payroll accounting and tax compliance, requiring strong analytical skills.

In this pivotal role, you will manage critical accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable, and financial reconciliations. Ideal candidates will have at least five years of related experience, along with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities. Effective communication and the ability to handle confidential information are necessary for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post payroll journal entries and accruals
• Conduct reconciliations of bank and payroll accounts
• Communicate with government agencies for compliance




• Support tax return preparations with external teams
• Assist in maintaining internal control during audits

Requirements:
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Over 5 years of accounting experience required
• CPA designation or actively pursuing it is preferred
• Excellent Excel skills necessary
• Knowledge of German is a significant advantage
