About the Role

As Apparel Designer at Westbeach, you'll drive the design and development of men's and women's premium apparel across performance, lifestyle, and outerwear categories. Working alongside our design team, you'll own seasonal collections end to end, manage carryovers, and develop core and franchise product categories that define the brand.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be in the details every day: building CADs, refining line sheets, driving tech pack inputs, and leading fit sessions. You'll apply Westbeach's brand codes and product standards while shaping the direction of every collection. Perfect for someone who's obsessed with product, brings a strong point of view, and is ready to take ownership of categories from concept through production.

What You'll Do:

Seasonal Design & Execution

Design and develop seasonal product across men's and women's apparel, working within the seasonal creative direction established by design leadership. Translate concepts into clear, accurate sketches, CADs, colourways, and design documentation.

Product Design & Development

Take assigned styles from initial concept through development, balancing aesthetic, function, commercial needs, and cost. Incorporate feedback from design leadership while independently managing revisions and design follow-through.

Tech Packs & Design Documentation

Create and maintain accurate design specifications, tech pack inputs, BOM information, line sheets, colourways, trim callouts, and other design documentation. Partner closely with garment development and technical teams to clearly communicate design intent through to production handoff.

Sample Review & Fit

Participate in fit sessions and sample reviews, providing design-focused feedback on silhouette, proportion, detailing, construction, materials, and overall execution. Track and communicate revisions to ensure samples reflect the intended design while meeting quality and cost objectives.

Materials, Trims & Construction

Research and propose fabrics, trims, finishes, construction techniques,



and design details appropriate to each product. Work with materials and development teams to evaluate options and resolve design challenges throughout development.

Research & Trend Awareness

Conduct ongoing research into apparel, outerwear, performance, streetwear, colour, materials, construction, and relevant cultural influences. Translate relevant insights into product ideas rather than simply following trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Design, Garment Development, Materials, Merchandising, and Design Operations to support efficient seasonal execution. Communicate clearly, meet development deadlines, and proactively flag design or execution issues that could impact the seasonal calendar. Assist with various tasks when needed in order to support design team.

What We're Looking For

5-7+ years of experience in apparel design or product design.

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience working on apparel collections, preferably in lifestyle, athletic, or technical product categories.

Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and design CAD creation.

Solid working knowledge of garment construction, fit, and patternmaking.

Strong attention to detail and organized approach to managing multiple styles and projects simultaneously.

Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and mentor junior designers.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
