Join the Louis Riel School Division as an Itinerant Ojibwe/Cree Language Support Instructor. Help foster language learning and cultural appreciation in schools throughout the district.
This position is suited for individuals with experience in Indigenous community engagement and language instruction. A high school diploma or equivalent background is necessary, and related higher education is preferred. Collaborate with the Indigenous Education team to implement effective language programs and professional development workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate Ojibwe/Cree language programming in various schools
• Work with classroom teachers for integrated cultural education
• Engage in professional development initiatives for staff
• Promote traditional Indigenous teachings during lessons
• Communicate effectively with students and educational teams
Requirements:
• High school graduate or equivalent experience
• Certification in Respect In School or similar training
• Experience in Indigenous student support
• Bilingual or intermediate proficiency in Ojibwe or Cree
• Transparent Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry report
