Project Coordinator – Industrial Construction
Full time || British Columbia | Alberta | Saskatchewan
Industrial Construction | Project Coordination
Remote / Project-Based Work with Regular Travel
We’re recruiting for a growing construction company seeking a Project Coordinator to support industrial and heavy industrial projects across Western Canada.
This is a hands-on coordination role for someone who wants to be involved in the actual delivery of construction projects and continue building toward greater project responsibility.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants. The work includes drawings, RFIs, submittals, procurement, schedules, changes, field coordination and project closeout.
For someone early in their construction career, this is an opportunity to gain exposure to both the office and field sides of project delivery and build toward a future Project Manager role.
What They’re Looking For
- Roughly 2–5 years of construction or project coordination experience
- Experience supporting active construction projects
- Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and project documentation
- Ability to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
- Experience coordinating with Project Managers and field teams
- Exposure to procurement, schedules, subcontractors or suppliers
- Solid organization and follow-through
- Clear communication across office and site teams
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and construction project management software
An Engineering, Construction Management or related technical degree or diploma is preferred.
Experience That Would Be Helpful
- General Contractor / Prime Contractor experience
- Industrial or heavy industrial construction
- Structural steel or pre-engineered building exposure
- Active construction site experience
- Civil or concrete coordination
- Mechanical or electrical coordination
- Change orders, purchase orders or contract documentation
- Experience supporting projects through turnover and closeout
Direct structural steel or pre-engineered building experience is helpful, but it is not required for this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals and shop drawings
- Maintain current drawings, specifications, logs and project records
- Support procurement and track materials and equipment
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
- Work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents
- Prepare meeting minutes and follow up on action items
- Support schedules, milestones and progress reporting
- Assist with change orders, purchase orders and project documentation
- Help keep communication moving between the office and field
- Track deficiencies, turnover documents and closeout items
- Identify missing information or coordination issues before they affect construction
Compensation
The expected base salary is $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience and project background.
Additional compensation may apply for qualifying rotational site assignments.
Growth
This is not intended to be a permanent coordination track.
The company is looking for someone who can grow technically, take on increasing responsibility and develop toward project management over time.
You’ll work alongside experienced construction professionals and get exposure to how industrial projects are planned, coordinated and built.
Location & Travel
Candidates can be based in British Columbia, Alberta or Saskatchewan.
The role includes a mix of remote/office-based coordination, project travel and time on active construction sites.
Some projects may require periods of rotational site work. The location, schedule and duration will depend on the specific project.
Candidates who are comfortable with project travel but would need to understand the details of a rotational assignment before committing are still encouraged to apply.
Interested?
If you already have active construction coordination experience and want broader exposure to project delivery, field execution and industrial construction, we’d be interested in learning more about your experience.
