Empower youth in Richmond as a Community Youth Outreach Specialist. This rewarding position emphasizes advocacy, mentorship, and building supportive networks for at-risk teens.
Your role will involve direct engagement with youth aged 12 to 17 who are navigating challenges related to the criminal justice system. You will assess individual needs, coordinate with community partners, and establish service plans that guide youth toward positive development. Additionally, you will work closely with the Richmond RCMP and multiple agencies on service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cultivate relationships based on trust and respect
• Handle referrals from youth-serving organizations
• Conduct intake interviews for personalized service plans
• Deliver ongoing mentorship and advocacy
• Facilitate access to necessary programs and resources
Requirements:
• Diploma in relevant social sciences or criminology
• 2 to 5 years of direct youth work experience
• Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence required
• CPR and First Aid Certification needed
• Robust knowledge of youth development factors
