Make a difference with the Alzheimer Society as a Recreation Coordinator focused on dementia programming. This full time role based in Kingston, ON, centers on developing meaningful recreational activities.
As the Recreation Coordinator, you will create and implement therapeutic programs that foster social connections and promote independence for individuals living with dementia. You’ll engage participants in community environments and offer personalized in-home visits, adapting programs to fit diverse needs. This role is perfect for someone dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for clients and their caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop engaging recreation opportunities tailored to participants
• Facilitate social, wellness, and creative activities for clients
• Foster community partnerships for increased engagement
• Conduct in-home assessments and personalized recreation planning
• Maintain client documentation and program evaluation reporting
Requirements:
• Relevant diploma or degree is essential
• At least two years of experience in recreation programming
• Background in dementia care highly valued
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Access to a vehicle for travel throughout KFL&A;
