In this permanent full-time position, you'll become a vital part of WAHA’s efforts to provide comprehensive healthcare across remote communities. Your focus will be on cultural programming and alternative healing methods, requiring a deep understanding of community needs and Indigenous practices. Creativity and strong relationship skills will play critical roles in your success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Promote cultural values through community engagement
• Organize Indigenous healing and teaching circles
• Maintain cultural education tools for Elders
• Plan and execute traditional feasts and ceremonies
• Educate about traditional medicine practices and advantages
Requirements:
• Social Service Worker diploma essential
• 3+ years of hospital social work experience
• Good standing with the OCSWSWW
• Experience in First Nations or community settings
• Willingness to travel across communities
