Become a Technical Specialist for Applications with the Government of Nunavut in Iqaluit. This role emphasizes administration of GN production applications, providing key database support, and troubleshooting in office and remotely.

In this full-time, indeterminate position, you will report to the Senior Technical Specialist Lead. Your responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining databases such as MS SQL Server and Oracle, along with providing Tier 2-3 support to technicians and end users. You'll support northern communities with both remote tools and occasional travel for on-site assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and monitor MS SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle databases
• Install and test upgrades to applications and databases




• Analyze incidents to improve procedures
• Offer Tier 2-3 support to various technical staff
• Liaise with vendors for problem resolution

Requirements:
• Diploma in Informatics Technology or related field
• Five years’ technical support experience
• Three years’ administering Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases
• Relevant industry certifications preferred
• ITIL certification considered an asset
