About the Role Our client is seeking a bright and motivated Actuarial Analyst to join their creative team in Kimberley. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to apply advanced analytical skills to complex insurance and financial problems, with a mix of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility. You will be responsible for performing actuarial valuations, pricing new products, and assisting in risk management activities. Key Responsibilities Assist in the calculation of technical provisions, reserves, and capital requirements for insurance products.
Support the pricing of new insurance products, including profitability analysis and assumption setting.
Develop and maintain actuarial models and databases for various valuation and reporting purposes.
Analyze insurance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
Prepare reports and presentations for management, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with other departments, including underwriting, finance, and product development.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
Progress towards actuarial qualifications (e.g., successful completion of several actuarial exams).
1-3 years of experience in an actuarial role within the insurance industry.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with actuarial software (e.g., Prophet, R, Python) is advantageous.
Good communication and teamwork skills, enabling effective collaboration in a hybrid environment.
