About the Role Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Product Development Scientist to join their R&D; team in a fully remote capacity, focusing on the Food & Beverage sector. This role is crucial for driving the creation of new, market-leading products that meet consumer needs and align with company strategy. You will leverage your scientific expertise, creativity, and understanding of food science principles to develop novel formulations, optimize existing products, and ensure product quality and safety. This remote role offers the prospect to work with a dedicated team and contribute significantly to product innovation within the dynamic FMCG landscape, impacting products enjoyed nationwide.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development of new food and beverage products from concept to commercialization, including formulation, prototyping, and sensory evaluation.
Conduct research into new ingredients, technologies, and processing techniques to drive innovation.
Optimize existing product formulations for cost, quality, shelf-life, and nutritional profile.
Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations, quality standards, and internal company policies.
Collaborate closely with marketing, regulatory affairs,



and operations teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges that arise during product development and scale-up.
Requirements Master's or Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
5+ years of progressive experience in product development within the food and beverage industry.
Proven track record of successfully launching new food or beverage products.
Strong understanding of food chemistry, microbiology, processing technologies, and sensory science.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and pilot plant scale-up processes.
