About the Role Our client is seeking an innovative Research Scientist to join their Materials Science division in Kimberley . This role focuses on developing novel materials with advanced properties for various industrial applications. You will be responsible for designing experiments, synthesizing new materials, and characterizing their performance in a state-of-the-art research facility. Key Responsibilities Design, synthesize, and characterize novel materials using techniques such as chemical vapor deposition, sol-gel processes, or additive manufacturing.
Perform thorough material characterization using tools like SEM, TEM, XRD, and spectroscopy.
Investigate material properties and performance under various conditions to understand structure-property relationships.
Collaborate with engineering teams to translate laboratory findings into potential product applications.
Maintain detailed research records and prepare technical reports and presentations.
Ensure a safe and organized laboratory environment in Kimberley .
Requirements Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
Proven experience in materials synthesis and characterization.
Proficiency with advanced characterization techniques (e.g., electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, spectroscopy).
Robust understanding of materials science principles and solid-state physics/chemistry.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to research.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working within a research team in Kimberley .
