As a Geochemist or Biogeochemist, you will oversee technical aspects of tailings management and provide leadership in geochemical characterization, acid rock drainage, and metal leaching. This hands-on role involves working with multidisciplinary teams on closure planning and designs, ensuring all technical work adheres to business and regulatory objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead geochemical characterization and monitoring programs • Develop and review geochemical models using PHREEQC and GoldSim • Support mine water management and closure landform designs • Manage budgets, schedules, and technical consultants • Mentor junior staff on geochemistry topics
Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Geochemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field • 10+ years of relevant geochemistry experience • Knowledge of Alberta's oil sands regulatory environment • Solid communication and project management skills • Professional designation registration eligibility with APEGA
