Uqausirngaq Project Manager Department of Social & Cultural Development Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated Located in Iqaluit, NU

Under the direction of the Assistant Director – Social, the Uqausirngaq Project Manager will administer the Uqausirngaq Funding Program and support the department with Inuit language initiatives, as required. This position exist to:

Manage an annual call for proposals

Work with Regional Inuit Associations (RIAs) to review proposals received under the Uqausirngaq Fund

Issue funding agreements and monitor project outcomes

Promote the Uqausirngaq Fund through community engagement initiatives

Monitor the success of the Uqausirngaq Funding Program

Engage the RIAs in the review of relevant programs policies and guidelines, as required

Participate in meetings with federal partners, as needed.

To be invited for an interview; have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in dealing with Inuit Language/Education issues or equivalent field; minimum of at least 3 years’ of experience conducting, evaluating, and reporting on successful research projects; strong writing and communication skills; good knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement and NTI’s Mission, especially Article 32; knowledge of events that relate to Inuktut/Inuit Education in Nunavut – historical and contemporary; awareness and sensitivity to inuit issues; proven ability to work well in a team environment, deal simultaneously with multiple files, meet demanding deadlines, work well in a politically sensitive environment, work under high levels of stress/pressure,



deliver funding programs; strong presentation skills and the fluency in Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun is an asset.

Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.

Starting salary is $126,500.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

Housing allowance of $35,865.00
