Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Quality and Safety, the Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is accountable for the application and adaptation of the nursing process to help protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of employees in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The OHN identifies,



manages or eliminates risk to employees by developing and coordinating health and safety programming in compliance with legal, industry and leading practice standards. Services are based upon regional and individual needs. The OHN is knowledgeable in occupational health and safety, occupational screening, environmental health, and human relations. The OHN requires excellent communication and administration skills in the provision of occupational health services to a variety of stakeholders.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience Minimum 1 year experience in Occupational Health or Public Health Nursing
Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Other Education and Training Occupational Health Nursing certificate is acceptable
Immunization certificate is an asset
Diploma: Occupational Health Nursing/ability to complete w/in 3 yrs of employ.
If no OHN diploma, Occup. Health Cert. or can obtain w/in 3 yrs of employ.
