At the Teen Recreation and Education Enhancement program, the School Youth Worker helps improve student engagement in a non-traditional school setting. This full time position requires working collaboratively with teachers to develop curricula that meets individual student needs, emphasizing behavior management and pro-social development. Your role will directly impact students facing various barriers to success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver support services that respect cultural diversity
• Foster connections between students and long-term community resources
• Encourage participation in school-based community outings
• Manage case notes and statistical reporting effectively
• Collaborate with educators to create real-world curriculum
Requirements:
• 2-Year Diploma or higher in Child and Youth Care
• Minimum 1 year experience in specialized educational settings
• Proficiency in trauma-informed practices
• Strong relationship and communication abilities
• Adaptability to meet individual student needs
