Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) is one of Canada’s three main institutes for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, our world-renowned researchers drive fundamental and applied research at the University of Alberta (and other academic institutions), training some of the world’s top scientific talent. Our cross-functional teams work collaboratively with Alberta-based businesses and organizations to build AI capacity and translate scientific advancement into industry adoption and economic impact.About The Role
The Machine Learning (ML) Educator supports the content development process for AI literacy programming in the K-12 education system, post-secondary institutions, and industry. Providing exceptional content development and delivery to empower organizations and individuals in enhancing their AI literacy, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for success in AI.This is a Full-time Term position with an end date of March 31, 2028.
The position focuses on achieving excellence in three main accountabilities:Learner SuccessContent ExcellenceTeam SuccessRequired Skills / Expertise
Key Responsibilities:Delivers and leads dynamic workshops, lectures, and full courses tailored to diverse audiencesActs as a trusted advisor and education facilitator, helping teams and clients identify how AI and ML tools can effectively address their business needsCollaborates with the Product Owner, Training,



to evaluate educational needs and design targeted upskilling programsCreates and delivers training programs and workshops that comprehensively address both business and technical training needsSupervises AICAP participants in the content development process;
including the creation of assignments, instructional content, and scriptsBuilds a reputation as a trusted subject matter expert, providing valuable insights and guidanceContributes to the effective coordination and management of internal tools and resources, supporting both learner and team successIdentifies problem-solving strategies while actively collaborating with team membersManages and oversees the timely completion of all deliverablesWorks effectively with the Training team and other Amii teams to achieve shared goals and enhance cross-functional collaborationTakes proactive steps to inspire and motivate peers and team members, helping them achieve the organization’s mission and visionIdentifies and implements opportunities for increasing efficiency within the Training team, leading to improved processes and outcomesPursues personal development and learning opportunities with a focus on collaboration, applying learnings to enhance future coaching opportunitiesQualifications
Masters or Ph.D. in AI/Machine Learning3+ years applied AI experienceExperience with developing and delivering curriculum;
designing effective learning exercises, illustrations of technical concepts,



training and evaluation toolsExperience building or delivering content in the post-secondary context (nice to have)Must be comfortable speaking in public, being on camera, teaching groups of various sizes, and facilitating group activitiesExceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet project deadlinesAbility to communicate highly technical subject matter to a variety of audiencesProficient in eLearning systemsInterest in and ability to test new educational tools and technologiesAttributes and Expectations
